Progress has been slow on the SDE minis. Half way through filling. Did manage to get a table together for inrepose and did a little more of the creator board. Also made an ice sculpture up the side of the house.... Well really that was the burst hose pipe but it was my hose pipe.

The girls are tanning it up in the oven. Did some work on their feet. Filled out a few of their body's and fleshed out some arms. Off to help inrepose with his salute board or I'd be getting more done with them or the prawn mecka. Looking at him with fresh eyes has really inspired me to blow the dust off him.

I'm thinking about setting up a bulb oven so I can get more work done on each mini. The drying time is so long that i can only manage a tiny amount on each mini. It's difficult to tell the progress spread across so many figures.

I really need to work on my patches, the thread's don't look right to me. I have never been shown an effective technique for it so I just roll out a blob and hope it sticks before i mash it up to hard and have to start again.

Almost done with this guy now. Medallions are on. I noticed that the neck didn't quite look right so i built that up a bit. Added a buckle on one of the belts and baffled myself trying to figure out which side to have the excess belt on.

once these bits are dry I'll add the links to the medallions, thread to the patch and maybe some random stitches. That should be him complete

Thinking about adding another rolled blanket some place but haven't decided yet. once I've done these bulky parts I'll get into the little details like the medallions and rivets on the straps

glued the tail (forgot to say in my last entry that i bent it into a new shape, but its barly notacable). Pinned and filled out the neck by wrapping it.

Fleshed out the neck put a little texture into it with some creases.

Rocks, Love all the mini's. Mike has done a great job on them. I thought it would be a nice quick project to create an alternate stance for his baruk ^^. no more need for words, I'll just post the images as i move along ^^.

just a lil explanation. carved off the bottom jaw to sculpt an open mouth. cut down the head and neck to change the angle of the head. Ground down bags, sacks and straps to i could add a little more diversity.

GS'ed straight over the wire, you can see how close to the surface it is. the tip is fatter than i'd like but i felt it was nessasary so the end didn't wiggle. I'm still yet to sculpt the hair on her head but wanted to see how durable a layer of glue over the sand and grit would make it. Also am seeing if i can create convinceing rock with cork and GS. If it dosent work out its no real loss as there will be a layer of snow.

Proof that i've started painting. Just a bit of baseing and some undercoats on my favorit widowmaker. I need a wider pallet of colours O.o i have two P3 sets and they are all greys, greens and browns >.> what a pain.

Took the "Shafts" off the grenades for the obvious reason that they made them look like giant rubber cocks >.> So now they look like Loony Toons bombs. I'm still working on more realistic bombs (old war bomber types and pipe) which i might still remove these for if they turn out much better.

I ordered this girl last November. NOVEMBER! yes, long story but she finally arrived yesterday. I Sliced her hat right off and I'm giving her a giant ponytail which will hopefully look like its whipping about with her movements.

Just wanted to prove that I have been sculpting.

As you can see, the Devastator has got the majority of my attention. The grenades still need a lotta lotta work but you get the idea. going to disguise the wires with smoke plooms. it looks aces in my mine. just gotta get it on the figure now.

Like the stump from this angle. from others it looks too thin at the base. I have decided on snow bases and am told that baking soda is the way to go. I'm going to try a few methods on some test bases.

And some boring prep work on some other minis. pins and wiring for some base detailing I'll do later. rocks, stumps, Branch's, trees and skulls etc.

Back again ^^ Yeah, "the game" sucked me in again. But its ok... its ok. i gave all my gear away to friends signed out for the last time, closed my account and uninstalled it. That shoud keep me off ^^ and yay! now i have time again for other things! Have recently started blacksmithing! which, is, awsome! Check it out!
These have taken me one week (two visits) @ the forge to get too this stage. thats about 8 hours work on this piece (I usualy work on a couple of things in a trip). The farrier whiped up one in about 15 minutes >.> I'll get there eventually I'm sure. Oh, these will be the head of a set of tongs btw.

Nice eh? Very natural shape ^^ Totally deliberate. Farrier showed me how to make a leaf today. This was my first attempt and it only took me about 20 minutes ^^ I tend to over work my pieces, faffing about with them. Apparently I'm indecisive and this lets the Iron cool before i even strike it.

Check this out! something that actually looks like a reel tool. Farrier and i made them together today. I was well chuffed. I mean yeah, he did about 80% of it but i learnt shed loads. Maybe even enough to finish my own set that you see at the top of this post. I cant wait. and now i get to continue with my first set with a tool that i helped to make. That's gotta be the coolest thing about Blacksmithing. you get to make things with tools you have made yourself ^^ I would love, love to make this a career.

So now that I'm off the game i will back too my sculpting. Hopefully your looking forward to it. Peace out.

Did some rope's to see if i would have more luck with that. And i think i did. first attempt is on top and i think by the second one i was on to something. going to try some thinner wire and different knots to keep it looking real. really boosted my confidence

top half is another fail. Bottom half had a little more progress. don't like the verticals tho.

Finally something resembling a good weave. even more so where Ive split each of the sections a second time.

now that's what I'm talking about. only way i think i could have improved on this one is by taking a little more time to avoid the gaps and by lowering some edges to give the impression of overlapping. Also i need to do another test to see if i can get the pattern smaller.

looks like a weave. a lot more uniform then the one before. i like it and it gives me idea about a variety of patterns in one weave.

lots more tiles to go before i decide on one. Really inspiring me.

Recently I've had to stop work on CC but not really. been doing lots of experimenting so i can get the finish just right. Lots of wicca weaves.

Fail. couldn't even bring myself to finish this one. the cut strips were too sharp and the rolled horizontals i couldn't get thin enough.

Wire seemed the next logical step since it was already nice and thin. i pressed it into a layer of GS as Super Glue wasn't cutting it. thought that i could press roles of GS over it to create the weave.... didn't work how i imagined at all.

The way forward seems to be pressing in the putty to leave the weave. though neither of these two really techniques sell it.

What a mess. the top layer is all the same height and it just isn't working for me.

tried pressing a blade in to get the horizontals but used too much putty and realised after the wire that the pressing in of roles just doesn't work.

This would have been a mould for resin or something like that but i think its over complicating things so I'm experimenting down other routes.

found some patio patterns and thought i would give them a go. think if i had spent a little more time on this one it might have been going in the right direction. especially to the left hand side.

hummmm, hummmmm. Still questioning the cracks on her back. Think it should make her less chibby. Which is good.

I think loosing all my faith in this mini might do it good (can't get any worse right?). Now I'm not afraid to experiment with it. He might end up not looking anything like the Ingame character but hopefully will still look like a little happy go lucky willow the wisp ^^. those on his head are the beginning of flames btw. let your eyes go out of focus, little more, little more... see?

pushed out some GreenStuff as thin as i could get it, across some Cling film. Ready to slice it up once its dry.

I twisted some wire to try and get a rope effect. I would like to get a thinner gage and try plating three strands. Maybe try twisting it too. oooo, could do a bunch of things to create a variety of ropes all tied together, some frayed.

Sliced a previously rolled out piece of GreenStuff (GS). Some thin to try wikka effects (baskets) and some thinker for material strips (Instead of ropes to hold on the baskets?).

Cut some lengths of wire and pressed them into a layer of GS ready to try a technique of mimicking wikka. Put some more wikka on a couple more Bases to make up other wikka test tiles and wikka moulds

and Finally rolled a pieces of GS between my fingers to try and get it as thin as i could. Again its for wikka and rope effects.

Cracks

Little post. What do you think about the cracks around the spikes in her back? think the one on her right side definatly needs some work. if only i had a nice new set of wacky shaped scalples from hobbycraft to help me form them (heavie hint to all thouse that know me). I think this is the right way to go even tho in "real life" the cracks would indent unless it poped out of her back O.o

Little Nippers

Just the little inner claw to go on these. They are going to be a little bigger than i first imagined.

I've spent so much time on her underside... i don't know if I'll have the heart to attach her to a base. Though, she is front heavy, so leans on her front claw instead of holding it up high like i want. Maybe once the baskets are on her back that will help.

Still no improvement on the Snoll ; ; Going to keep him going on the side till he finally starts to take on the shape he is supposed to be. Maybe by then CC will be done and he'll become my main piece.

Blobbys

blobbys blobbys and more blobbys >.> exciting eh? beauty. Added more depth to the underside. ringed the claws. put the biggest blobs on the claws. Going to try and get some tiny blobs all over the place in between the larger ones.

I also added to the claws. Struggling to get crisp edges on the butts of the claws. I want them to look saw'n (swarn, sawarised, chopped, cut with a saw... you know what i mean) off. Haven't decided how iIwant the claws to enter her shell yet. Will they just go in neat? shall I make them look bashed in with a little cracking around the edge? no idea. I love seeing pieces come together. I guess that's one of the blessing about not knowing what your doing.

Sculpting gone wrong

What happens when a sculpting session go's bad O.o I don't know how I'm going to pull this guy back. It was disheartening to say the least.

So I did some more CC to pick me up. I know I said I was going to do belly and legs. After some careful consideration I squeezed a small length of wire around the front claw armature and twisted it to form the little pincer and then secured it with a layer of procreate. This sets me up *crosses fingers* to be able to do a bigger session next time. Plus! You can really see how close she is to being complete ^^. Yeah, yeah, I'm still miles off :P but she almost has all of her parts on (just baskets, bags and ropes.. I think). Even if everything still needs tweaking and finishing.

Its not like you'll have your nose pressed to her ass to see her so i can deal with it ^^ Feels like I'm saying the same thing over and over again. Only realised yesterday that at the front she has snipers and not just clawed. which might cause a little trouble since i didnt put a pin in for that. A couple ways i could possibly fix this? wrap another pin in parallel and bend it out to form the pincer. I could just solder on the pin. I could sculpt it out of just putty and hope for the best. Who knows? Going to start by tidying up the undershell, then the inside of the claws and then I'll get on with the pincers. least that's the plan.

Did some more work on the underside of CC. front claws are a little wobbly O.o which is worrying. I'm hoping that the collar's i will be putting on them as well as what i did this time should secure them. If you look at the bottom left corner of the first pick you can kinda see what she will look like once finished ^^ i love it.

Took a big chunk outta his mouth and had a blob of putty left over from a CC session. So blobbed it atop the Snolls head, which gave me the starts of eye holes. Symmetry doesn't appear to be my thing. Gotta try and keep that in mind. I think there are cheeky ways of avoiding it but I wont improve that way, now will I.

Looks happy eh? Will drill out his mouth next. Was going to build him out more and work the mouth in that way but now that I have Carrie to go from I'm trying to keep them to scale.

What are they? sacks! (for CC's back). Looking at them now... I probably should have made them around pieces of wire so I could pin them on. Who knows what I'm going to do with them now. You think if I roll out a thread thin piece of putty and wrap it like rope it will hold them on? lets hope. Suppose I could always make more.

Nice Stems

Got the outside shell on the legs. Don't know if they came out how i wanted but they are there now and I'm just going to have to deal with it.

What do you think about the detailing on the edges? still think they have some work to go before i can start on the finishing details. Getting tricky figuring out what order to do each part of the sculpt.

Tryed adding a little battle scaring. if all else fails i still have plenty time to fill them in. going to try and add as much detail as i can by the time I'm through. May also use some white spirit to remove any lingering thumb prints.

Just read about the fanfest contests. would have been absolutely amazing to have had CC displayed. Sadly i doubt she would have been ready in time. Even if I could have got to the states. How lame is it that there is no EU event? though I doubt if there was, that it would be anywhere near as big as the NA/JP events respectively. How bad ass would it have been if it was though *dares to dream*

Claws

CC finaly got claws? Yes, I got them on! How? well I figured I could get away with extending the caraparce on her underbelly a little and haveing claws come out at an angle to give me a little more room. I think it worked but I wont know till i flesh them out.

Wraped in the same fashion that i did the legs.

Legs took a squidgeing, which gave CC a little more ground clearance.

The mistakes made on CC are realy starting to add up now and I'm trying to avoid paying the price. I've got to find some way of blagging her front snipers on without ppl realising what I have done. I cant remember if i mentioned this in a earlier post or not but her back shell isn't at the right angle and neither is her front shell. which means the front shell is a lot lower than it should be . I've got to figure out a way to get her claws on without them dragging along the ground . Also one of her legs is about .5cm shorter than the other. doesn't sound like much till you think that she is only about 7cm tall totall (that's a wild guess btw, I haven't actually measured her). i could snip off that leg and add a section on maybe, but I don't think I have enough room to pin them together so I think it will be for nout.

Tip of the day is start from a decent set of multiple angle images/sketches, measure everything and scale it, or you might pay for it at the end. Anyway, tho she wont look like a mirror image of the ingame CC I don't mind. In fact I love her more for it. My CC will wear her battle scars with pride.

ooOOo the excuse, I mean, reason for CC's longer than average shell just came to me. They must grow with age like ears and noses there whole lives. My CC has just seen a little more of the world than most ^^. Off to do a lil more sculpting, with hopes to get a few sessions done today so I have a nice buffer of posts. Peace out

The underbelly

Started working on the carapace? of the legs. Think there going OK. Think I'll need another session on the surface and then probably another working on the detail. The way my brain works is to build it up and then cut the details in. Like cracks and dents in the shell for example. Probably just habit as I'm used to modding more than scratch building.

This is all the same basket. This one needed a lil more work to catch up to the others. She was looking a lil bulgie too so i had to shave her back. All these baskets need now, is texturing. PROBLEM! I still haven't found my rubber nosed brushes. Hope i don't have to buy a new set.

Leg Rebuild

Agentofping took on the task of painting a large 15mm Army. One of which was missing most of one leg and the back half of his foot of the same leg. So i had a bash at making him the man he should have been. Think he turned out pretty good.... well as good as 15mm gets ^^

From the piks it looks like its just had surface work but I assure you his whole left leg, from the calf down, is solid green stuff (foot dosent count on acount of it being a foot eh). beauty

Pots?

Starting to look a bit more like ceramic pots than wikka baskets but atleast they are looking like baskets. Anyone else find that procreate is a lot harder to work with on smaller details than green stuff? It seems to not like sticking to itself.

Also ive atempted to texture the insides of the claws. Started with the insides so i can build up the outsides around them, which i think would be difficult to do the other way round.

Think most of the bulking up is done now. Quite excited to get on with the detailing but have lost my rubber nose brushes ; ; I blame that damn mother inlaw of mine. "tideing" my left foot!

Will do a bunch more tomorrow, promiss.

Bet you thought i was gone forever eh? No such luck. I got a lil too into FFXI and it took a anxiety attack with lots of hyperventilating (sad i know) over a DC to make me realise that maybe it was time for a break. Since then I've been all over the sculpting. I missed capturing a few stages between but managed to get the wife to clear out her camera to get these shots out.

Not bad huh? mainly bulked out the legs. finding it difficult to get the legs even. I'm hoping that irregularity's will give her a more "realistic" feel? yes?

Baskets too. i have been a busy bee. Started by wrapping some clingfilm (surang wrap?) around a couple (a few relly) file handles and pressing around some putty. once they dried pulled them off the handles using the clingfilm (right smart one me) and stuck a ball of putty to the bottom of each (the looked like Lego heads). just been filling them out wince then. i think there is no way I'm going to get them identical. Which actually works for me. I'm thinking i might make them a little worn. Shall try and keep this up better this time.

What a slacker i've become. Lots of non sculpty stuff to do recently which has kept me far away from my toys. For example it was my birthday last Sunday and i got Crissis Core for my psp. So as you can imageine since then i havent done much else. Also i did a lot of of stuff ingame to prepate for my omaga and ultima fight with my CoP static and there was a BBQ and visiting my parents and Ive had to up my overtime at work to try and catch up and stick to the final deadline (did 5 hours overtime yesterday O.o). I leave you with a few picks i took just befor my life got filled up with other things. Hopefully will take the time to do a little more on CC soon but we have another birthday BBQ this weekend >.> . Sorry it isn't much.

Tenticles?

So first off i covered the pins in her back to start forming the horns. this was a big no no. since the pins were un textured and practically straight the putty kept spinning arund the pins. and they would still do that even when dry so i changed my tactic and needed a thin wire of putty and wraped it around the pins so the later layers had something to grip too.
Second problem was that i did totally the wrong mix and of the wrong putty too. Should have used brown stuff from the get go as it drys harder. green stuff drys flexable which made me die inside.

I have added some detail under the shell but you can see that so thats as much as im going to mention about it. since the horns were takeing an age to dry (not that long but i was feeling impatient) i decided to wrap the legs in some beading wire (which is awsome as its realy maluable). sat for a couple mins getting no wear fast as the wire kept spinning around. so i glued the end of each of the legs and then went to get a video.

When i got back the glue was dry and i wraped the legs nice and tite. then gave them a wipe with some Superglue.

Once that was dry i sniped off the extra wire and saw CC off her copper wire/cork stand.

i discovered that one of her back legs was way too long even tho i measured them all when i put them on >.> i liked that she didn't stand with all claws on the ground as it gives her more of a pose. too bad that all of her weight is in her face at the moment so she leans on her front legs instead of her back. I'm sure this will change once the horns are done and her baskets and on. If not them I'll just have to attach her to a base.

Made up a little brown stuff to coat her horns but way, way too much. So stuck what was left on her legs to start bulking them out. Hope i didn't ramble on too much there, peace out.

Bug eye'd

Sculpted CC's eye lumps on the other day, which turned out ok. Still having a lotta problems with keeping things symmetrical. i can see Despot being an absolute ass.

The day after i pined her eye stems. in hind sight i should have bent them to shape before gluing as it was difficult to get them curved without being able to grip both ends. could have done some serious damage to her face.

Touched up her face a bit, which i think made quite the difference and finished her eyes. fiddly to say the least and as you can see as usual she ain't symmetrical (right eye is much larger) so now that they are dry I'm going to see if i can add just a little to the left to even them out.

I've added the pins to support the horns and pouches on her back but I'm wondering if i should solder ona downward piece on each to support the necks of the pouches now or if i should just drill the horns later? no idea , im a little worried about heating up the paperclips and scorching the supersculpie.

Compared the pik to the sculpt today in good light and there are some mistakes i don't think I'm even going to attempt to fix. For example her face plate is far too long which means that I'm going to have to bodge where her arms go. I knew she wasn't going to mirror the piks in the first place as nothing i create tends to come out like i expected. I kinda like that about my work so long as i like the end result ^^. Should have another post soon as I've already uploaded the images in draft. Took the pik of the bikes as promised but put it in the wrong folder and thus forgot to upload it Xo oh will, I'm sure you will see them soon.

A whole bunch of gangers. Just striping off everything i dont want. Sorry its been so long since my last entry. Ran outta batteries and forgot to pick up new ones

think im gunna lop off the chainsword and give her some fancy blade of some description. getting the meterial out from between her legs is proveing to be a pain but i figure if i take out too much i can always sculpt it back in. Want to get everything off befor i start adding.

Not decided what weapons she shall have yet. Im still working on removeing her armour. think i might give her a pain of knee high converse and some samurai style shourt troucers.

i envision her with a huge hammer over her shoulders. can you see it too. She shall be a juve.

Only done a lil on Low, the twige bits in her dreads, filed up a paperclip and will add detail with epoxy. pritty chuffed that they have stayed on so well.

Have some pics of the 10mm bikes im working on but arrangeing just thouse images was pain enough for one night. I know i know i should get back to my scratch sculpts and i plan too very soon, just got soooo much on me plate at the mo. i only have short periods of free time and i dont wanna waste loads of epoxy due to running outta time and i dont wanna rush neither. hacking bits off takes no kneeding time. Anyway, starting to ramble. peace out. hope to post the bikes tomo.

If you check back a few entry's you'll find the post with my gif in it. After 3/4 days of it processing I gave up. The help page said it should only take a couple Min's . Something must have gone awry.

Here are a couple shots of Loweko of the LowRiders. I touched up where I took off her old head and chains, drilled a new pinning hole (the old one was way off) and added this new head. I think it was off the Ganger with the grenade in one hand but whatever it was I had drilled it out years ago for something else. anyway, nice face. I plan to give her a full head of short dreads and some twigs tied in all tribal like.

Oh I added some bullet holes to the chainsword which turned out quite nice. The pin in the back of the head is to help attach the hair later. I have no idea where I'm going to add her stub gun but she'll have one.

Here is my first attempt at making a mould. I learned a lotta lessons with this:
bottle caps do not make great mold holders
Bases melt in the over... hard
plastic mini's also don't like the oven
I need to cook my SuperSculpie lower than 130 so it doesn't crack

I haven't tried using the mould yet but I will with both epoxy and resin, if i can. i need to find some tiny metal trays to hold it in. I was thinking about the ones those cheap ass candles come it but there still a little big. Maybe i can cut them down *ponders* anyway that's all for this post, my gaming days are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday so i don't often get much sculpting dune then. soon tho.

Been A busy weekend, so no more scratch sculpting. I did do a little more on my new Gang Leader (loweko) of the notorious "Low Riders". Clever name eh? thought of it all by myself. As you can see she is going to be a chainsword wielding badass!

She started as a Sister repentia (she pretty much still is ^^) and now i've taken some of the hilt off the chainsword. Loped off that crappy hooded head (im thinking i might give her a balaclava like those old skool cowboy bandits and hair like the awesome ranger looking woodelves. I've grinded down the sack on her front foot and will replace it with armor like on the back foot. i also filed off the inquisitor symbol on her leg. Took the chains off oher back that were attached to that horrid hood.

As promissed a pic of the dried mask. You cant see from here but the poll set at an angle which i was more than a litttle peeved with but no one else seemed to care. It also wasnt dryed in time which is part of how it got set at a funny angle. Its gunna be broken down into mask, poll and mount, left to dry and then put back together more securly. A note to all those that mean to use air drying clay. The night before you need it, is too late to start sculpting!

Costumes

Firstly the elbow pad. Sis started just wanting me to make up an armature for it but the quickly turned into finishing it too. it was a lot harder than i thought it was going to be. fimo is an ass to work with. Gave me a whole new respect to the girls that make thouse lil cake jewlery pieces.

This guy started as a card mask and a huge lump of air drying clay. My first dilema was the clay not sticking to the mask. I solves it by coating the mask in PVA glue and sticking a thin layer of clay over it. Might as well have had no feachers.

The design is based off that wacky guy in that old stop animation with the kids and an airship? I have no idea what its called and that is the worst description of it ever but there you go.

Here is the finished result. Well, wet finished result. Its still under a lamp drying beside me. Starting to worry that it wont be dry in time. wanted to keep the lamp on it over night but the wife was paranoid that it would get too hot and spontaniously combust *shrugs* anyway. hopefully it will dry soon and maybe i'll take some more shots.

Ok, still dont know if this is going to work, but it might. Its a gif of the mystery mini spinning. It might not look like it but I've added a 1.5" cube's worth of ProCreate. I dont think I emphasized enough just how much epoxy these minis are going to take. If I was using packets of GW Greenstuff... I'd say it would take around 10-15 more packets to finish... maybe more. I guess I'll find out XD that would be one expensive mini :P no wonder ppl use supersculpy. I bet its barrels cheaper on mass.

Havent done much more on these guys as I've been working or the armor parts to my sisters tifa costume and i've made my friend a Masquerade Mask for a costume party saturday. I'll upload picks for of me making then in my next entry. Dont wanna do anything too risky incase it kills this gif.

zomg, missed a whole day. shame on me. did a little more on the old Treant. i think it came out real well ^^ totally loveing how the branches came out. wont be able to do any more on him for a while tho as im thinking to get the thinner brances at the top i should solder some single thicknesses of wire. onlyproblem being that i lost my soldering iron a long long time a go so need to get a new one. but my car is in the garage after some (a lot) of hissy fits.

He's also ging to be a slow one. he's going to take a lotta procreate to finish so im just useing any i make up extra to blob on him so i dont waste any. its not expensive but i aint made o money. Keeping him in a decent pose is caseing me serious headache. and he has one long calf, one long shin (not on the same leg >.>) and one long arm. so that's gunna be fun to fix. He's totally built tho so i have jut gotta thicken him up on the right side's and that's half the battle won

Havent seen her in a long time eh?
And now she has a shell. I'm trying to work throu her logically so i started with the back shell first. This procreate is awsome for large pieces but im struggleing with adding little pieces as you'll see later.

couple shots of the shell from the back. which is nice as thats the main bit i was sculpting XD turned out well i thought. Least this side did >.>

Oh noes! This sides didn't match :O so i chopped it down a bit as i had the edges of the shell raised.

I think the re sculpt of this side turned our pretty good ^^ A lot more even at least.

And Then on to the front shell. i have a horrible feeling I'm going to have to do a lot of adjusting as i go with CC. Every time i adjust one bit and add a lil detail, it throws out something else. Luckily its only been unfinished bits so far ^^ Hope that this is the way it usually works XD

The front piece looked too short so i extended it down. I also remade the front claws and haven't re attached them yet as i think there position is going to have to be scooched down. i had real trouble getting this little edge i added to stick to the rest O.o i wonder if i need to change my mix? or maybe just use greenstuff
. I've never had any figure sculpting lessons so this is all guess work and what i have assumed from looking as pictures of other sculpts. I don't learn so good from books. My ability to learn is all visual which is probably why i do a lot of crafts and arty things. Anyway, i think CC is really coming along now ^^ you, or at least i can defiantly see who it is.

More Despot

even more Despot! In an effort to save putty once i get to that stage I'm trying to build out this armature. tricky business trying to predict where everything will end up.

Built out the treants body some more and stuffed him with some paper to see if it helps keep shape.this should be an easy build as there is so much room to breath .A tree is a tree. Any extra knots and you wont even know.

Finlay got my ProCreate! its so smooth to use. only problem is i can't seem to get lil pieces to stick together. guess i just need to add some green stuff. stretched a thin layer around my mystery mini so i can start building him up. since he is so big i plan to only build him up with left over pieces from other sculpt sessions instead of making do with too little or wasting extra. i can make too much and use whats left on him ^^ genius eh?

Another day, another couple armatures. Still no new epoxy to play with so my options are limated. First is the legs of a treant. Was such, such a pain to get these together. took me a good hour just to get them to line up right and then the Greenstuff didnt hold so i added another layer to help with that and i wraped the legs with a thinner wire to give the epoxy something to grip. left the long pieces out the top so i can weave them together to start to form the body.

Secondly Despot!

I'm going to have a hard time keeping everything about him symetrical but thats half the fun ^^. The wife says he looks like american football goal posts >.> i wasn't amused :P "HE's swinging his arms back" i said.

These guys are getting big (totally ran outta Corks) O.o I'm trying to keep them all to the same scale so its CC's fault really.

On a side note. remember the mystery sculpt from last post. well i was trolling CMON and came across some of scibor's works. totally awesome. Checked out his site (totally swish) and found This Tutorial O.O Wicked! I'm totally going to use this technique to create the shields for that Piece (another clue) XD totally building it up for no reason XD its gunna be nothing special :P

Bold as Brass

Waiting on some new tool's (gotta love an excuse for more tools ^^) and some ProCreate, so i made another armature. Can you guess what it is yet?

Left CC in there for scale tho i never gave you a scale for her XD i would say they're about Inquisitor scale (54mm i think). i think i did an ok job building him (yay a clue) up. Probibly not as good as i should have tho as i used to do wire wraped sculptures all the time. (i'll take some pic's and stick um on my Deviantart page . Its just realy hard to capture a wire sculpture on film. maybe i should make a lil gif? we'll see.

Anyway enough of that because lets face it... its pretty dull.

Huzzar! CC bulked up. you'll notice she also lost the front two prongs. while building up the torso i managed to mess up the alignment sooo much that there was no saving them. I'm sorry.

I have a funny feeling that I'm going to have trouble with the legs later too. I'm finding it difficult to adjust my armatures to take into account the thickness of appendages. If you've sculpted you might know what I'm trying to explain.

Just started taking sculpture seriously and so figured it would be kinda cool to document my progress both in projects and skill. It might get a lil confusing to follow as I'll have several pieces on the go at once so i don't fall victim to curring times and the like. gotta keep sculpting while the oll inspiration is pumping.

So without further delay i present Corrier Carrie (here on out referred to as CC).

Fancy eh? Well they gotta start somewhere. some brass wire i striped outta some thick cable. balled and thread back through itself and then stuck in a cork (so hard to come by these days) covered in a layer of epoxy and stabbed repeatedly to give me a nice bit of texture to sculpt onto.

Anyway that one is a bit of a jip so here's my next stage early (gotta keep you interested no?).

LEGS! and sticky outtie bits for baskets. at least she is starting to look crabbie right?

just drilled into "the ball" with my pin vice and Super glued in some paperclips bent into legs. then some lil pieces in the top. lovely.

Hope that sates you for. maintenance is over and thus, so am i. peace out
